Ahoj!
My name is Tereza and I’m so honoured to greet you as the Director of the Czech Centre London for the first time. I would like to thank my predecessor Přemysl Pela for all his work; we will build on it.
I’m glad to join the great Czech Centre London crew to continue to bring you a programme that will be inspiring, soothing and sometimes challenging. I’m looking forward to meet you in person and if you have any ideas to discuss, have no hesitation to contact me. I will be happy to hear from you.
My professional background is in journalism and communication. No surprise I like to tell stories. Like the one of the Czech entrepreneur and shoemaker Tomáš Baťa, whose 150th birth anniversary we will be commemorating this spring. His Zlín-based company built a factory in East Tilbury in the 1930s. His story has great ingredients, to name a few: spirit of enterprise, poetry of early advertising and architectural modernism.
We have already started to tell the story of Czech photography with our Pixels and Poetics exhibition. We will continue to focus on Czech-made photographs. We will hopefully surprise you in the best possible way. Czech us out. We have open doors.
Děkuji!
Tereza
